FourKites brings heathcare monitoring into the 21st Century
[ June 26, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]Yusen Logistics’ European healthcare division is now using FourKites’ NIC-Place carrier visibility system to track and monitor its customers’ assets and enable European road carriers to safely share data, and optimise logistics processes.
It provides real-time tracking of temperature controlled vehicles and gives real-time, accurate estimated arrival times, delay notifications, and real-time temperature monitoring and alerts.
Yusen Logistics head of customer information and digitalisation for healthcare, Frank Gosnell, said: “We used to gather temperature reports from hauliers manually, which took too much time, and frustratingly, we often could only get this information after a trip was over. Thanks to FourKites, we can now proactively provide our clients with highly accurate real-time visibility into temperature at any time, no matter where our fleet is. This has significantly increased our credibility and skyrocketed our customer service.”
Yusen Logistics says it previously relied on a legacy in-house shipment tracking solution that, according to Gosnell, was outdated, lacked temperature reporting, and was burdened by fragmented, disorganized data. Since launching NIC-Place, it now has a solution that easily integrates with their hauliers as well as their own systems to give a holistic view of assets in real time across their network.
He said that adding new hauliers to NIC-Place “has been a dream, both for us and our carriers, because it’s so easy and fast”.
He adds that his team is keen to explore expanded applications of AI to further enhance their operations, from automating workflows to making their data more predictive of supply chain disruptions and automated actions to resolve them.
