Freight forwarder GEFCO has set up a ‘Mission Control Centre’ in Amsterdam to manage its Time Critical Solutions service. The operation will provide 24-hour service to customers and will also act as a single point of contact to provide real-time monitoring updates on emergency shipments.
GEFCO’s Freight Forwarding division manages a global network of time critical operators and works with customers at local level to provide both planned and unplanned emergency shipments. TCS is designed to provide immediate responses to urgent delivery requirements, offering comprehensive, worldwide time critical air freight solutions with full visibility.
The MCC will monitor all TCS freight forwarding solutions via the global IT system, giving local operation teams insight on global shipments.
Global TCS Director at GEFCO Freight Forwarding said: “The Mission Control Centre significantly enhances our credentials in the time critical solutions arena. With all time critical shipments being monitored closely by our excellent and experienced MCC team, we will ensure that we always find the fastest possible solution for all planned and unplanned emergency shipments for our customers.”
The MCC team will be led by Vincent Karbet and Chantal van Loen, ; the former has worked in the international freight forwarding industry for over 15 years, including executive roles with DHL Same Day, while Chantal was responsible for TNT special services in The Netherlands for over 10 years.
