Geodis creates AI department

French-headquartered transport and logistics company Geodis has set up a dedicated artificial intelligence department and appointed David-Olivier Tarac as executive vice president artificial intelligence, who will head the new department.

Geodis says the initiative will enable it to harness the power of AI to accelerate its transformation and drive sustainable growth throughout the world.

Tarac joined Geodis in July 2022 as deputy group chief financial officer (CFO) and was appointed CFO in January 2023.

He will be replaced as group CFO by Carole Besnard, who has served as deputy CFO since 2018.
