Get into the Christmas spirit with Transaid
[ September 1, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]International development organisation Transaid has launched its 2026 Christmas Appeal, inviting businesses and individuals to support improved road safety and access to essential healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.
Working in partnership with organisations in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia, Transaid delivers professional driver training programmes, develops new driving standards and supports sustainable, community-led transport solutions to connect communities to vital healthcare.
Over the last year, Transaid and its partners have: trained more than 8,000 professional drivers and riders in Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia; provided more than 5,300 eye tests to long-distance truck drivers in Kenya and distributed 1,280 pairs of glasses; reached almost 4,000 drivers with road safety education in Ghana; and delivered refresher training to 208 bicycle ambulance riders, custodians and Community Health Volunteers.
For this year’s Christmas Appeal, Transaid has created three corporate donation packages that recognise and celebrate the support of businesses across the sector.
Companies and individuals can also support the appeal by ordering festive Transaid-themed greetings cards or by making a direct donation.
