Gothenburg buys land for westward growth

The Port of Gothenburg is to acquire a large area of land for long-term for SEK 684 million, subject to approval by the municipal council.

It is expected to create 210,000sq m of new terminal space. and continues the port’s  westward expansion since the 1970s. Nearby, construction is currently underway on Stena Line’s new ferry terminal, which is planned to be completed in 2031 and the new property is adjacent to this area.

The sale is expected to be completed no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026.
