Flemish minister of Public Works and Mobility Hilde Crevits officially launched the Port of Ghent in Belgium’s new European distribution platform at the Kluizendok on 15 May. The development, by logistics real estate company WDP, will offer direct water, road and rail links. Rail tracks will connect directly to the container terminal and to the local rail network.

WDP is also developing 180,000sq m of space in the development including storage space for conventional cargo, rail-connected warehouses, cross-docks for e-commerce, conditioned sheds, open-air storage and space for containers, trucks and cars.
