Growth in a cold climate

[ December 6, 2016   //   ]

Lufthansa Cargo is to expand the Cool Center at its home hub in Frankfurt from its current 4,500sq m to 8,000sq m by late summer 2017. The original phase was completed in December 2011 and boasts four cold-storage rooms at 2 to 8 °C, 15 to 25 °C, -12 to -20 °C and 5 to 15 °C as well as a deep-freeze room and direct access to the apron.

Airline association IATA recently awarded Lufthansa Cargo and the Cool Center the CEIV seal for pharmaceutical transports and the carrier is now improving its service, taking into account the special requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and all EU guidelines for medicinal products.
