Gulftainer to build inland port

Gulftainer has unveiled plans to develop the Al Dhaid Multi-Modal Trade Corridor which will have an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEU. A public-private partnership with the Sharjah Ports Authority, the 150-hecare site will be an extension of Khorfakkan Port, 50km away and will be integrated with the Etihad Rail network to serve the entire Arabian Peninsula. It will include an Inland Container Yard, Empty Depot and a Container Freight Station to consolidate cargo inland for same-day shuttle to the port, as well as transit into Saudi Arabia and Oman.
