Healthy profits for DPD amid pandemic

[ March 4, 2021   //   ]

European parcels giant DPD says its revenue grew 42% during the Covid crisis. Publishing its 2020 results, it said its takings hit £11 billion, with 1.9 billion parcels delivered worldwide, or 7.5 million a day. Profits doubled to €800 million. DPD Group said that Covid 19 led to an unexpected surge for the parcel industry while customer trends expected for 2024 to surface far in advance, such as a heightened urban logistics demand and a greater sense of environmental responsibility. There was also a significant shift towards B2C which now accounts for 55% of DPD’s volumes.
