IAG sends flood relief freight for free

[ October 3, 2022   //   ]

IAG Cargo and British Airways have partnered with multiple aid organisations to offer free transport of emergency flood aid to Pakistan. Over 34 tonnes of aid has been donated, including medical support and clothing which has already flown to Islamabad for onward transportation to the affected areas. The largest single movement of aid so far weighed eight tonnes and the flight was operated on 25 September by a special team of cabin crew who all have a connection with Pakistan

Chief commercial officer at IAG Cargo, John Cheetham, said: “We have all seen the devastating impact of the horrendous floods in Pakistan that are impacting the lives of so many. The air cargo industry has always played a key role in providing the rapid response humanitarian crises require and I’m pleased that with the support of the teams at IAG Cargo, British Airways, and charities including Khalsa Aid and Football for Peace we’re able to contribute towards the significant relief being given to those in need.”
