Iberia to bleed

[ November 12, 2012   //   ]

International Airlines Group – owner of British Airways and Iberia – unveiled a major cost-cutting plan for the Spanish airline on 9 November including reducing its fleet by 25 aircraft and axing 4,500 jobs. It follows a 25% fall in third-quarter profits. Spanish trade unions said the plan amounted to the “dismantling” of the carrier.
