ICHCA seeks new advisor

[ July 29, 2011   //   ]

The International Cargo Handling Coordination Association, ICHCA International is seeking a consultant to replace Mike Compton as its technical adviser. ICHCA International chairman John Strang said: “Mike’s shoes will be difficult to fill. His knowledge of the industry and his dedication to safety is world renowned. While we still have six months or so of Mike’s time we need to find a replacement now to work closely with him so some of his experience and knowledge can be passed on.”

With its NGO status at UN inter-governmental meetings, ICHCA International has influence on policy making. The technical adviser will manage, develop and enhance ICHCA International’s activities. Apart from the responsibilities of providing and coordinating technical advice to members, and representing ICHCA International in meetings with its national and regional chapters, the role includes maintaining and developing liaison arrangements with others groups and associations, such as at IMO, ILO and ISO.
