Janssen adds Maltacourt to its British empire

Netherlands-based logistics firm Janssen Group of Companies (Janssen has made a second UK acquisition with the purchase of Northwest England-headquartered UK air and ocean forwarder Maltacourt Global Logistics.

The Dutch company Janssen entered the UK market in March with the acquisition of Norman Global Logistics, based near London Heathrow with sites in Felixstowe, Northampton, Manchester and St Helens.

Along with its head office at Runcorn, Maltacourt has sites at London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham and Leeds Bradford. The company was established in 1981 and acquired by Matt Beech in 2011. As well as Maltacourt, it also operates under the provide services under the Mandarin, and Extraordinair, with a team of 65.

Janssen chief executive, Rob Linders, said: “The acquisition of Maltacourt aligns with Janssen’s strategic growth plans and underscores our commitment to a strong positioning in the UK. Especially due to post-Brexit complexities, our seamless logistics operation covering both the EU and the UK provides numerous benefits for our clients.”

Maltacourt chairman, Matt Beech, added, “We are delighted to become part of

Janssen, and we strongly believe there is no better fit for our business, culturally or strategically.”
