Kazakhstan gains World Logistics Passport

[ December 21, 2020   //   ]

The Republic of Kazakhstan has joined the World Logistics Passport (WLP) initiative to boost trading opportunities between developing markets. The memorandum of understanding was signed between Kazakhstan Minister of Trade and Integration, Bakhyt Sultanov and, Chairman of Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem. The WLP creates opportunities for business and governments to actively improve existing trading routes, and develop new ones, through the creation of the world’s first logistics loyalty programme for freight forwarders and traders. Kazakhstan joins Colombia and Senegal in WLP, with Brazil, Uruguay and South Africa are also registered as partners. Joining the WLP creates an opportunity for Kazakhstan to diversify its exports and imports from Europe and China to growing markets in Latin America and Africa.
