Kerry ups sticks to escape floods

[ November 7, 2011   //   ]

Kerry Logistics has relocated its Express command centre from Bangkok to the east of Thailand, within 20km of Laem Cha Bang deep sea port. The new centre is also connected to Suvarnabhumi airport and is within one hour’s travel time, over elevated highways. It has also established distribution centres in Siracha, Chonburi, Chacheongsao and Rayong on the eastern seaboard and in Korat Province in the north east of Thailand, which are all unaffected by widespread flooding.

General manager,of Kerry Logistics (Thailand) Alex Ng said the forwarder was prioritising food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, medical, and life-saving equipment. “However because of the flooding it is inevitable that delivery lead times will be longer than usual but we are fully operational,” he added.
