[ January 13, 2017   //   ]

Kestrel Liner Agencies has been appointed by Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu specialist operator MBf Carpenters Shipping as general agents in Africa, US and Europe.

The MBf Carpenters Shipping agent says it can now offer a weekly shipping service for containers, breakbulk and project cargo to rthe region, which it says has been poorly served until now.

MBf Carpenters Shipping is already well established in Asia and the Pacific, have been working in these niche markets since 2010. In 2014, the company expanded to offer a direct service connecting China and Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

Kestrel group chairman, Andy Thorne, said that MBf has “a phenomenal name in the Pacific Island trade and working with them to expand their service to cover Europe and UK is extremely exciting. PNG is developing quickly and our industry knowledge of the mining and oil and gas sectors will expand our service offering to our clients.”

He added: “Mining is a key industry in Papua New Guinea and we have been involved in transporting several heavy lift cargos.”
