Kewill makes platform more shipper-friendly

[ October 21, 2014   //   ]

Supply chain execution software specialist Kewill has expanded its Kewill MOVE on the Cloud transport management platform to more fully address the needs of shippers. It now incorporates extended functions for manufacturers who want to manage their own transportation planning and execution

Key supply chain functions include multimodal transportation, customs compliance and warehousing, with end-to-end shipment visibility and integration and can be deployed quickly using turnkey templates. Shippers also gain access to a growing, near-16,000-strong international carrier network.

The platform also allows measuring against network benchmarks and could reduce freight costs by 5-15% by optimising route planning, carrier selection and consolidation, says Kewill. It also automates shipment tenders, appointment scheduling, and shipment status updates, accelerates transport invoice processing and payment approvals and optimises inbound freight process by collaborating with suppliers

Kewill’s chief marketing officer, Evan Puzey, said: “Mid-tier shippers are seeking a single vendor multimodal transportation management platform that offers turnkey speed with the rapid return on investment of a Cloud deployment. Our expertise, honed from years of working with LSPs, Shippers and Retailers around the world, allows us to offer proven, pre-defined, cloud-based solutions to meet the specific requirements of these key industry verticals.”
