Kuehne + Nagel first with airfreight sensors

[ March 2, 2012   //   ]

Kuehne + Nagel says it is the first forwarder to introduce active wireless sensors for airfreight real-time temperature control. The equipment is being introduced as part of its KN PharmaChain product.

Generally, security rules prohibit the active use of mobile sensors during air transport. But together with a number of airline partners, KN has thoroughly tested low-emission devices which can stay active during the flight so that the temperature is being constantly measured and reported practically in real time. The equipment will also be deployed on pre-and-on-carriage road transport.
