Last stop Southampton for Gemini’s Far East service
[ February 27, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]Southampton will become the final European outbound call to Asia on Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk’s joint NE3 service, under a number of adjustments being made to the joint Gemini network in April, a year after its launch. The NE2 will add a direct call at Antwerp. In Asia, the service will call Yantian instead of Ningbo, improving connections to the Pearl River Delta.
NE3 will introduce a Baltic rotation with calls at Aarhus and Gothenburg, while NE4 will revert to its previous rotation without the Baltic loop, which is now covered by the NE3 and creating one of the fastest Nigbo-Germany connections in the market.
In the Mediterranean SE1 will add Algeciras westbound and eastbound speeding transit times for Spain and adjacent markets and SE3 will be upgraded to 20,000 TEU vessels.
