Leipzig handler Portground renews CEIV pharma cert

[ November 23, 2022   //   ]

Leipzig/Halle Airport handler PortGround has been recertified to IATA’s CEIV Pharma standard. The Mitteldeutsche Flughafen hub, which is Europe’s third-largest for cargo has again been cleared to handle time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive shipments.

PortGround managing director Alexander König said: “Leipzig/Halle Airport has become a significant handling centre for temperature-sensitive, pharmaceutical and medical goods and it provides ideal conditions for shippers, freight forwarders and airlines thanks to its 24/7 operating permit for cargo flights and its direct links to the trans-European motorway and railway networks.” says Alexander König, the GmbH, emphasising his point.

CEIV – Center of Excellence for Independent Validators – in Pharmaceutical Logistics confirms that companies are handling sensitive pharmaceutical goods in line with international standards.  This certification requires extensive process documentation and regular training sessions for all those involved in the procedures, geared towards their individual work areas. It is also essential to have suitable infrastructure where the temperature is monitored at all times.
