Leman buys out Dan Cargo
[ October 9, 2014 // Chris ]Denmark’s Leman International System Transport, the parent company of UK forwarder Aeroship, has acquired the total share capital of the freight forwarding and logistics company Dan Cargo as well as its subsidiaries in Gothenburg , Sweden and Oslo, Norway.
Leman CEO Thomas Krøyer said the move whould allow his company to optimise its European road traffic, expand logistics activities “and work for an extended and fine-meshed distribution concept for the benefit of our customers.”
Although Dan Cargo has no UK depots it has substantial volume in and out of the country. Aeroship Freight Forwarding will merge these activities with its current organisation which has depots in Basildon, Cannock and Bradford. UK managing director Jesper Thygesen said: “The acquisition shows the group’s intentions of expanding and we continue to identify potential acquisition targets within the UK. These are exciting times and we are in a very strong position to grow our business both organically and through acquisitions.”
With subsidiaries in Gothenburg, and Oslo Leman aims to achieve substantial synergy. Dan Cargo MD and majority shareholder Karsten Sørensen added: “Both companies are based on ensuring customer satisfaction through motivated employees. I am confident that our activities will be carried on by Leman skillfully and in the right spirit.”
