Liverpool port project goes live

Peel Ports Group and E.ON have generated the first power from the new solar panels on the 260,000sq ft Alexandra Dock warehouse in Liverpool. Almost 7,000 solar panels have been installed on the ‘Alex Shed’ and have now been connected to the grid – the first instalment of a project to install up to 48,000 solar panels on more buildings at the port. The project is part of a 25-year agreement between Peel Ports Group and E.ON, to cut CO2e emissions(2) by 4,700 tonnes each year and will play a central role in helping the Peel Ports Group to achieve its net zero emissions goal by 2040.
