Los Angeles has busiest ever container quarter
[ September 10, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]With 955,907 TEUs handled in August, thePort of Los Angeles says it has had the busiest three consecutive months in its history with more than 2.9 million TEUs moved in June, July and August. August volume was 6% above the five-year average for the month and on par with last year. Executive director Gene Seroka said the surge was due to resilient consumer demand, early holiday shipments and a broad mix of cargo. He added. “September is shaping up to be another strong month, and Los Angeles is well positioned to respond as global trade patterns continue to evolve.”
