Maersk doubles Singapore space
[ March 24, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]Maersk has officially opened a 1.1 million square feet, fully automated global and regional distribution centre in Singapore, doubling its footprint in the country. World Gateway II marks a major expansion of its contract logistics and e-commerce capabilities in Asia Pacific.
Supported by the Singapore Government, the facility will act as a regional or global distribution centre, handling products including lifestyle, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, retail, wellness and technology.
The site is close to Tuas Port and Changi Airport and a short distance from Maersk’s World Gateway regional distribution centre.
Automation technologies include a multi-shuttle system, automated storage and retrieval system and autonomous case-handling robots.
The S$200 million facility has already reached approximately 70% occupancy, says Maersk.
It is customs bonded, and allows storage free of import Goods and Service Tax (GST) tax.
