Mauritius offers airfreight rebate

[ May 23, 2017   //   ]

Allport Cargo Services is recommending that buyers of airfreighted goods from Mauritius allow suppliers to prepay freight locally to easily take advantage of an airfreight rebate scheme in that country. The forwarder suggests adding the freight charges (net of rebate) to the supplier’s invoice as a freight charge, effectively making terms CPT UK Airport. This avoids the need to renegotiate FOB unit pricing, and allows suppliers and UK importers to access the rebated freight rate. The scheme: applies to enterprises operating in the textile and apparel sector only and refunds 40% of airfreight charges.
