Move puts Yusen Leeds in a new league

[ November 22, 2011   //   ]

Yusen Logistics (UK), the NYK Group’s forwarding arm, has moved its Leeds operation from Castleford to a new operation in Stourton, south east of the city.

The new facility is an integral part of Yusen Logistics’ high-security network and operates as a cross-dock platform and storage facility, and will play a key strategic role as an inland import centre, says the forwarder. Situated next to rail routes, as well as the M1, M621 and M62 motorways, the new site will help Yusen Logistics take freight off the roads.
Managing director, Yusen Logistics (UK), Ian Veitch, commented: “We are extremely excited by this move. The location provides a better suited facility to service customers and underlines our commitment to continued provision of a North Yorkshire network platform.”
He added: “We are delighted that all our Castleford staff have transferred to the new operation, bringing with them a wealth of experience.”
