New Ghent-Hull route to start in May

[ May 24, 2018   //   ]

Belgian-based I-Motion Shipping is to introduce a new three-days-a-week container service between Ghent and Hull from 28 May. It will arrive at Hull Container Terminal on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will be operated by the 100 metre MV Cartagena.

Hull owner ABP said that the new service was expected to bring an extra 30,000 containers per year through the port. ABP Humber ports director, Simon Bird, said: “In 2017 ABP took the decision to invest £50 million in our container terminals in the Humber which influenced I-Motion’s decision to come to Hull Container Terminal. This new business arrives on the back of the new additional sailings between Amsterdam and Hull that was announced earlier in the year.”
