New leader for Röhlig in Ireland

Röhlig Logistics has appointed Alan O’Brien as managing director of Röhlig Ireland, succeeding sGarrett O’Brien (no relation). Alan O’Brien (pictured) began his career at AirOcean Ireland in December 2018 as senior business development manager and, following the acquisition of AirOcean Ireland by Röhlig Logistics in January 2025, played a key role in the growth of the business and the successful integration of the Irish site into  Röhlig.

In his new role, he will focus on the further development of air and sea freight exports and westbound Far East business, digital sales channels and customer service tools.

Since the takeover in 2025, Garrett O’Brien has led Röhlig Ireland as managing director and will retire at the end of April 2026.

Röhlig Logistics chief human resources officer, Ulrike Baum, said: “Garrett O’Brien has shaped our Irish business over decades with entrepreneurial vision, personal commitment, and great loyalty, developing it into the strength that characterises it today. We would like to thank him very much for his extraordinary commitment and many years of leadership.

Alan O’Brien will be managing director until the end of April 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
