New man at the helm of Maersk UK

Maersk managing director for UK and Ireland Brian Godsafe (left) is to retire on 1 March and his place will be taken by Jeremy Haycock (right), currently area sales manager for the UK and Ireland.

Brian Godsafe has been with Maersk and Safmarine since 1982and has held various positions before being named managing director in 2011. From the beginning of 2019 he took over the combined ocean and logistics businesses of Maersk in UK & Ireland, as area managing director.

Regional managing director for Maersk in Europe, Karsten Kildahl commented: “I would like to thank Brian for his career-long contribution to Maersk. Brian has always achieved impressive business results, and he has been a true role model in the way he has developed the teams around him. We will miss Brian in the Maersk family.”

Jeremy Haycock has worked for Maersk in Denmark, Italy, UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sweden and the US. He said: “I am very excited about this new opportunity and eager to continue my journey with this great team. I look forward to even more interactions with our customers and stakeholders and to continuously create customer value in the UK and Ireland markets

Brian Godsafe added: “Maersk is on an ambitious and exciting transformation journey as the provider of integrated container logistics and we now offer our customers a much broader portfolio of services and solutions for their comprehensive supply chain needs. I am confident that the company will continue to grow and develop in our local markets with Jeremy now taking over the helm.”
