New site for Great Yarmouth forwarder

Independent freight forwarder, dap UK has opened a new warehouse in Gorleston-on-sea, Great Yarmouth. The facility is set to become an approved customs bonded facility within the next 12 months and is equipped to handle bulk storage requirements with narrow aisle racking systems.  It is located at the Beacon Park, an Enterprise Zone with access to the A12, A47 and A143 trunk roads.

The site also offers solar power generation and charging points for electric , dap having replaced all its company cars with hybrid vehicles that can be charged on site. it only uses electric forklift trucks and has adopted a stringent recycling policy for all paper and plastic waste.

Chief executive and owner Clive Julian said: “The Beacon Park location was the natural choice for us not only because of the park’s commitment to innovation and environmental efficiency but also because of the opportunities for future expansion that the location offers, and its proximity to the A12 and A47.  Our operation is relatively unique to the Great Yarmouth area and we are pleased to be able to increase our contribution to the local economy and hope to provide increased employment opportunities over the coming years.”

Established in 2002, dap UK – which also has offices in Felixstowe and Rugeley – recently became an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) and works in fields including shipping humanitarian aid relief and military freight.
