New start date for Calais intermodal service
[ March 22, 2016 // Chris ]The new piggyback service from southern France to Calais will now start on the evening of 29 March. The VIIA Britanica service, from Port Bou on the Spanish-French border and Calais, which was originally due to go into operation on 12 January, was postponed due to security concerns in Calais. Further details will be announced soon, said VIIA, a subsidiary of French rail operator SNCF.
