New UAE-Oman link

[ April 12, 2016   //   ]

Oman Shipping Company (OSC) has launched a new multipurpose feeder service from the UAE to Salalah, Duqm and Sohar. The Oman Express Service will use its own multi-purpose vessel to carry containers, break bulk and project cargo, with a box capacity of 350teu or 8,000 tonnes of general cargo.

OSC chief executive Tarik Mohamed Al Junaidi (pictured, below) said the new service will be cheaper and faster than road transport. He added that Duqm is set to become Oman’s gateway for heavy cargo and the Sultanate’s next industrial hub.

OSC already operates a weekly feeder service connecting Sohar with Jebel Ali.
