Needlefresh Direct has appointed Norbert Dentressangle to manage the import and distribution of real Christmas trees from Belgium to UK retail outlets within four days of harvesting.

Established in 1996, the company supplies several varieties of tree, including traditional Norwegian Spruces and a range of Needlefast Firs. Each tree has a unique number to enable traceability and guarantee quality.

As well as using its international supply chain network to manage the inbound transportation of trees from Belgium, Norbert Dentressangle is also making deliveries to customers across the UK from growers’ sites in Hereford and Yattendon in Basingstoke.

The logistics specialist expects to transport over 200 trailer loads of trees for the festive period. I

Needlefresh director, Christopher Hood, said: “Obviously this is a seasonal business with very tight time scales so we need a transport provider that we could trust to react quickly and provide a reliable solution. Whilst efficiency is imperative, Norbert Dentressangle is also ensuring careful loading and handling of the trees so that they reach our customers in excellent pre-sale condition.”
