Notre Dame is matron of the French seas
[ May 26, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]CMA CGM has taken delivery of the Notre Dame, the largest containership currently operating under the French flag and the world’s Largest LNG-Powered box vessel.
She has begun its maiden commercial voyage in Shanghai and is due to arrive in Europe in early July.
At 400 meters long, 62 meters wide, and 75 meters high, the CMA CGM Notre Dame can carry up to 24,212 TEU and will be deployed on the French Asia Line between Asia and Europe.
As well as her LNG propulsion system, she has an aerodynamic windshield system that lowers energy consumption and an 18,600cu m LNG tank ensuring autonomy on Asia-Europe routes.
She is one of ten vessels due to be delivered between 2026 and 2028.
