Now wash your hands, says FTA Ireland

[ March 9, 2020   //   ]

FTA Ireland urged the freight distribution and logistics sector to work effectively, collaboratively and transparently to assess the risk of the corona virus to the international supply chain.

Operators should assess the potential impact on their businesses, put in place mitigation measures and review the situation regularly.

“Communication is key and it is crucial for businesses to consult with workers regarding this matter,” said general manager Aiden Flynn.

He added that mobile workers moving throughout the continent on a daily basis are particularly vulnerable and urged businesses to provide facilities for them to wash their hands regularly. Companies should also check the website of the Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade regularly to see where travel restrictions may be in place.
