On the move by land and sea in UAE
[ February 9, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]Deugro and Dteq Transport Engineering Solutions have moved six deaerator vessels from Ras Al Khaimah to Mirfa, Abu Dhabi for the Wave C1 Project using multimodal transportation. Each vessel weighed 158 tonnes and measured 36.6 x 6.4 x 7.0 meters.
Deugro collected the units from the supplier’s facility in Ras Al Khaimah, loaded them onto two 12-axle-line conventional trailers and then on to a self-propelled deck vessel for transport to the jetty.
Deugro said the key challenge was the operating at a small, congested port alongside a busy vendor yard, while transport to the berth and the barge required precise planning.
Once safely secured, the cargo was shipped, accompanied by two tugboats, to the MBK ICAD jetty 139 nautical miles away. Followed by 132km on-carriage by road to the project site in Mirfa.
