On the slide: Future Forwarding in epic Midlands move

Future Forwarding’s European Road Freight team have delivered the UK’s largest water slide from France to Cliff Lakes, Tamworth on behalf of Kingsbury Watersport.

The components for the X-Tower Slide, a 12-metre-high fibreglass and galvanised steel structure began their journey in Fontenay-le-Comte, where the structure was prepared for export and loaded by five separate crane operations. Five flatbed trailers were required, with several out-of-gauge loads, so careful route planning was needed.

The components moved from France through Calais and Dover, before continuing on to Tamworth, the full operation being completed within four days.

With the installation team working to a fixed schedule on site, deliveries had to be staggered in line with crane availability and assembly requirements.

The structure is now the centrepiece of Cliff Lakes, one of the UK’s leading aqua and watersports destinations.
