Preston-based Bowker Transport is celebrating its 100th birthday with a new livery. It replicates its vintage blue, red and gold colour scheme and will debut on two Volvo tractor units, donated by the manufacturer for use during the Centenary year.
Bowker Transport was established in 1919 when William Bowker used his £75 war gratuity to buy his first vehicle. Today, the company operates over 160 vehicles and 300 trailers, with over a million square feet of warehousing at seven UK sites.
