[ April 14, 2016   //   ]

Palletways Group has opened a new hub in Lyon, south eastern France, allowing it to increase the frequency and cost-efficiency of services to and from the UK.

The new facility is part of a major hub development programme across Europe  which has included  new facilities in Montpellier (France) and Fradley (UK) along with expanded existing facilities in Zaragoza (Spain) and Milan (Italy). It is also opening a new hub in Homberg, Germany in summer.

Palletways Europe managing director, Rachael Alpha, said that in 2016, “our focus will be on continuously improving our infrastructure and bolstering connections and service quality across the 20 European countries in which we operate. “The Lyon hub will support our growth ambitions in France and will enhance our pan-European offering, including to our customers in the UK.”

Palletways chief executive, James Wilson said the development “ will help us to meet our target of over 8 million pallet movements across Europe over the coming year.”
