PD Ports chief to step down

[ July 20, 2026   //   ]

PD Ports is to appoint current chief operating officer Paul Foreman as chief executive from Frans Calje on 1 September. Calje steps down after ten years with the company, which operates Teesport and the port of Hartlepool as well as a number of logistics operations.

The company is majority owned by Canadian pension fund Brookfield Asset Management but Pontegadea Inversiones – an investment fund owned by founder of the Zara clothing chain Amancio Ortega – bought a 49% stake in July 2025.

Current PD Ports executive chairman Jerry Hopkinson will also move into a non-executive chairman role at PD Ports on 1 September but will remain an advisor to the business.
