P&O opens Zeebrugge extension

[ November 16, 2016   //   ]

P&O Ferries has formally opened its expanded terminal at Zeebrugge which doubles capacity to around 700,000 units a year with a fourth berth and significantly enhanced rail capacity. In addition to Teesport, P&O Ferries also serves Tilbury and Hull from Zeebrugge, which has rail links across the continent including Romania, Italy and Poland.
Chief executive of P&O Ferries, Helen Deeble, said: “We will be able to offer our customers additional vessel capacity. We’ll be able to grow third party handling activities here at the terminal such as rail units headed for the Zeebrugge hinterland. And we will have the capacity to conclude new partnerships such as our existing one with Swedish Orient Line.”
