P&O takes to the Russian canals

[ May 18, 2021   //   ]

P&O Maritime Logistics has launched a new inland river route from the Caspian Sea to DP World Yarimca in Turkey via the Russian inland waterways, following the completion of  a trial voyage at the end of last month. The Turkey – Caspian line offers a more environmentally-friendly and faster connection between Turkey and some of its largest trade partners compared to road transport.

It will carry project cargo, breakbulk cargo and containers. It uses P&O Maritime Logistics’ Multi Carrying Vessel (MCV) and it is expected that at least two more vessels will be outfitted and classed for container carriage for the new line’s launch in the coming months.
