Ports are cooking with gas again

Truck waiting times at major UK ports have had a bad press lately, but when an ATL Haulage driver at DP World London Gateway went head-to-head with Rugby champion and Celebrity MasterChef winner Phil Vickery, it was the former who came out on top.
The competition was to see whether the Rugby star, with the help of Michelin starred chef Barry Vera, could cook up a meal for 20 port workers in less than the 35 minutes it took ATL to drop off and collect a container.
In fairness, the driver had rather more help from automated systems than did the two hard-pressed chefs. Nor did the video mention that at certain British ports until quite recently, they probably would have had time to grow many of the ingredients from scratch and still emerged as winners…
