Puerto Rico gateway gains CEIV Pharma mark

[ February 17, 2025   //   ]

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has formally recognised

Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport has gained IATA CEIV Pharma accreditation. It follows similar accreditation by seven members of the airport’s Life Sciences community – American Airlines, Prime Air Corp, ETH Cargo, Expeditors, César Castillo, Isla Frio Refrigeration, and Ground Motive Dependable Airline Services.

The Community has been working closely with the airport and the Department of Economic Development and Commerce of Puerto Rico (DEDC) to support logistics providers in achieving CEIV Pharma, including training initiatives for smaller organisations, and government subsidies for the accreditation cost.

The CEIV initiative was launched five years ago by Industry University Research Centre, which is currently facilitating a second round of further accreditations across the Community.

Further CEIV Pharma certifications in Puerto Rico are in the pipeline.
