Qatar continues Heathrow freighter revival

[ May 10, 2017   //   ]

Qatar Airways Cargo has become the latest carrier to start full freighter services to London Heathow with a weekly A330F from its Doha hub from 3 June.

It already operates London-Stansted all-cargo services, started in May 2014, but said that said that direct calls at London’s main airport would cut trucking costs.

Qatar Airways chief officer cargo Ulrich Ogiermann added that he would be interested in further Heathrow flights, should slots became available.

Qatar also operates shares space with IAG Cargo, the airfreight arm of British Airways and Iberia,

Other developments at the Middle Eastern carrier include a Climate Control Centre transit facility at its Doha hub and four additional Boeing 777 freighters due to be delivered between September 2017 and March 2019.
