Ramsgate dredging to start

[ January 3, 2019   //   ]

Thanet District Council said on 2 January that dredging at the port of Ramsgate was due to start that week as part of the bid to re-establish ferry services at the moribund ro ro port, reports kwentonline.co.uk. The port has been earmarked for a new service operated by start-up company Seaborne, a controversial move as it has attracted £13.8 million of government funding for ‘Brexit-busting’ ferry services. Since the end of the TransEuropa freight ferry service from Ostend in 2013, the port has handled mainly bulk shipments and trade cars.
