Recruits wanted: Sergeant to host Multimodal awards

[ November 20, 2015   //   ]

Broadcaster and journalist John Sergeant is to present the FTA Multimodal 2016 awards on 10 May 2016, for which nominations are now open. The awards gala dinner also has a new venue – the Birmingham NEC’s Vox Conference Centre.

There will be five new categories to reward best in class across all modes. Innovation, training, and environmental best practice will also be recognised.

Entering is easier than ever, with a new dedicated portal on the Multimodal web site, at multimodal.org.uk.

Nominations are sought for air cargo, road freight, sea freight, and rail freight operator of the year, as well as freight forwarder of the year. Companies can nominate themselves or their supplier, and a shortlist of nominees will go forward to the voting stage of the competition in January.

The FTA Award for Contribution to Environmental Sustainability, recognising a team’s work towards reducing carbon footprint, will be revealed at the dinner along with the Multimodal Personality of the Year and the Exhibitor of the Year.

The Young Logistics Professional of the Year can also be nominated on-line.

Multimodal director, Robert Jervis, says: “Multimodal is now in its ninth year and we pride ourselves on providing a platform for the industry to network and grow business.

“The awards are a reflection of our commitment to showcasing the best that our industry has to offer and we are delighted to be growing the categories.”

He adds: “We are excited to be moving to the Vox venue to ensure the evening is an even bigger success than last year.”

As in previous years, Multimodal, the UK and Ireland’s leading logistics show at the Birmingham NEC on 10-12th May next year, has teamed up with the Freight Transport Association (FTA) for a series of seminars as well as the awards.
