RHA to hold stowaway summit
[ July 8, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]The Road Haulage Association is launching a series of international summits, the first of which will be on clandestine entry via commercial vehicles It will take place on 1 October in London.
Evolving methods of concealment mean that drivers and operators can be unfairly penalised, even when taking all reasonable measures. Over 300 businesses recently wrote to the Home Secretary to ask for the scheme to be reformed and called for more investment from the Home Office in Border Force technology to deal with the issue.
The Summit will look at these issues and bring key stakeholders together from the UK, EU, and US, including the International Road Transport Union (IRU), American Trucking Associations,-Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) and officials from DBT, DfT and Home Office.
More information on speakers will be made available later.
