RHA to probe CLdN Irish Sea surcharges

[ January 9, 2025   //   ]

The Road Haulage Association said that it was investigating reports from its members in Northern Ireland that ferry operator CLdN has imposed surcharges on hauliers following the closure of the port of Holyhead following December’s storm damage. It says that operators using more than their standard booking allocations reportedly have to pay a 100% surcharge on additional slots RHA members further report that the surcharges are only being notified at the time of booking, providing no opportunity for alternative arrangements.
CLdN is a major player on routes between Warrenpoint/Dublin and Heysham, and Dublin and Liverpool.

Operators that have recently experienced issues regarding pricing of carriage of goods between NI and GB are invited to get in touch with RHA policy director, Martin Reid: m.reid@rha.uk.net
