Rhenus sets up fresh expert team

Rhenus Group has set up a team of experts, as part of Rhenus Fresh, to manage movements between Greater China, Europe and Latin America. It will be based in the forwarder’s North-West Europe region. The team has been sharing best practices, process flows and other quality with perishables experts in Greater China and Asia.

Rhenus says that there is increasing market demand, particularly for fruits shipped to China and meat to Hong Kong by air freight while Chile holds a pioneering status in global salmon exports to China. Greater China is a major import destination for fresh products with key countries including Thailand, the US, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, the Netherlands and Norway.

Rhenus Fresh has also recently established a dedicated team in Spain to cover the South Europe and in the Mediterranean trade.

The expansion of its fresh cargo services also follows Rhenus’ recent acquisition of BLU Logistics, a with offices throughout Latin American as well as China.
